Jennifer Schroeder, who was part of the Holland, MI group from 1st P.C. that came down to work in February, had such a wonderful experience in helping others that she invited 4 of her closest friends to come back and continue the work relief mission.

The Michigan Ya-Ya's aka, Jennifer, Candy, Cathy, Laurie, & Whitney arrived in Mobile on May ? and worked in the Gautier, MS area helping to rebuild lives after the storm.

Being fans of the hit television show American Idol, the group wanted to make sure they would be able to view the final competition and the results show the following night.

We got together for dinner at the church on Tuesday night and watched the final performances.  The group was amazed that the local television station Fox 10 kept broadcasting live from LuLu's restaurant in Gulf Shores, AL with the Soul Patrol.  I explained that Taylor Hicks' grandmother lives in Gulf Shores and that every Tues. and Wed. the Soul Patrol gathered at LuLu's to watch Taylor perform and advance to the next level.

After finding out that Gulf Shores was only an hour away from Mobile, the group decided it would be great if we were at LuLu's with the rest of the Soul Patrol when Taylor claimed victory as the next American Idol so we loaded up the van the next night and headed to Gulf Shores.

We had a great time in fun and fellowship and even made several appearances on the local news.
